Derek Collie and Alice Watts set up The Venue Portfolio – outdoor wedding and event specialists – in 2020. When the pandemic put a pause to corporate events with their other company, The Events Executive Ltd. they decided to diversify.
Alice Watts
Alice has a long history in event management. Having worked as an event manager since leaving university in 2004,
she understands that each event, particularly weddings, is unique to those involved in organising it. Subsequently, she takes the time to understand the personalities and vision of each client. This means that every event reaches beyond what they could ever have hoped for.
Derek Collie
Derek’s background is in property development and maintenance. This practical experience complements Alice’s creativity perfectly. Thus ensuring that the client’s vision for the event can be executed successfully, correctly and safely. He also spent many years working in outdoor activity centres. Consequently he understands the challenges of working with the elements and how to overcome any issues this may cause.
Dylan the Dog
Sadly Dylan the Dog is no longer with us. He played an important part in our business and all of the weddings we have hosted over the years. He is sorely missed.
